Appointments

How can I contact you to schedule an appointment?

You may call or text us at  (832) 966-9606  to schedule an appointment.  If we do not respond immediately, we will get back to you as soon as we are back in the office and able.

How far in advance do I need to book an appointment?

Call or Text us at  (832) 966-9606  and we will let you know our availability.  When considering scheduling an appointment, please plan accordingly with your social schedule as some procedures require down-time post-procedure.  Additionally, please make sure you follow all pre-procedure requirements (such as suspension of blood thinners 7 days prior to treatment)  or it may have an adverse affect on whether we can provide treatment at that time.  Pre-appointment requirements are listed below in association with each treatment.

How early do I need to arrive for my appointment?

Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to allow us to prepare your chart, process Aspire Rewards and have you update any forms if necessary.  To expedite the check-in process, please print and fill out all forms associated with your procedure.  Forms can be found on our Forms page

How do your prices compare to others?

Due to our low overhead costs, we elect to pass along the savings to our patients!  Our prices are significantly lower than other practitioners in The Woodlands, Houston, and surrounding areas.  We highly recommend that you visit  Real Self and call around to local providers to do some comparison research for procedures we offer to see just how much you save.

Why do I have to sit down when I fill out forms in the office?

Just as you would do at a standard doctor's office, it is our policy at BTLA Med Spa to protect patient privacy per Patient Privacy Law.

Am I allowed to wear makeup?

It is preferred that you wear no/limited makeup to your appointment, however, we have makeup removing wipes for you to use if necessary.

May I come in for just a Consultation?

We offer consultations for a fee of $50.  The $50 can be applied to any treatment you have done at that time or in the future.

What is Aspire?

Aspire is a reward system for Galderma procedures (Dysport, Restylane family, Sculptra).  You are able to earn rewards from each service you have done that turn into monetary rebates to use toward future services.

Dysport/Botox

How many units of Dysport/Botox do I need?

Unit quantities vary by patient, treatment area, and desired result.  A typical starting dose for Dysport averages around 50 units, but again, it varies by individual.

What is the difference between Dysport and Botox?

Dysport and Botox are two name brands of Botulinum Toxin Type A.  Dysport is preferred by most of our patients as it costs less and can last longer.

How many days does it take to see full effect of Dysport/Botox?

Weakening of the injected muscles begins to appear as early as 2-3 days, however, it takes approximately 10-14 days to see full effect.

How often should I get Dysport/Botox?

The minimum length of time between treatments is 3 months.  For most patients results can last 3-6 months.  Beyond that, it varies by patient, treatment area, and how individual bodies metabolize the product.

What guidelines do I need to follow prior to Dysport/Botox treatment?

Do not take any Aspirin, Motrin, blood thinners, fish oils or anti-inflammatory medications for 10 days prior to your Dysport/Botox injections appointment.  This helps limit the risk for bleeding.

Can I exercise after my Dysport/Botox treatment?

Please refrain from engaging in any activity/exercise for 24 hours post injection.

Will Dysport/Botox injections cause bruising?

Bruising varies widely by patient, treatment area, and dose.  It is not uncommon to bruise at the injection site and usually resolves in 3-4 days.

Restylane & Sculptra Aesthetic (filler)

How much filler do I need?

Filler is sold by the syringe and syringe quantities vary by patient, treatment area, and desired result.  Some patients only need one syringe, however, two is more common.

How long does filler last?

The length of time filler lasts varies by product used, application area, amount used, and the individual's metabolization of the product.  While there is no guaranteed time period for how long fillers will last, 9 month efficacy is a potential average.

How long does it take to see results from filler?

Restylane Family - Please allow 14 days for injections to settle and to see full results.  It is extremely important to have realistic expectations with the results of filler.  Fillers do not "get rid" of your wrinkles, but you can expect significant improvement. If a patient does not get the results they want, often the answer is more filler and that means purchasing more product.  For some patients, surgery might be a better choice than filler.

Sculptra Aesthetic - At your first treatment visit, it may appear that Sculptra Aesthetic worked immediately because of swelling from the injections and the water used to dilute Sculptra Aesthetic. A few days following the treatment, when the swelling goes down and the water is absorbed by your body, you may look as you did before treatment.  Sculptra Aesthetic takes time to gradually correct the depression in your skin and may take several treatments for patients with severe facial fat loss to see measurable results.

Are filler injections painful?

While there is moderate pain associated with filler injections, we try to reduce discomfort of the procedure through topical anesthetics and/or injectable numbing agents.

What guidelines do I need to follow prior to receiving filler?

The risk of bruising or bleeding may be increased by medications with anticoagulant effects, such as aspirin and non-serteroidal and anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, Celebrex), high doses of Vitamin E and certain herbs (Ginkgo Blob, St. John's Wart).  Please refrain from taking any medicines listed above at least 7 days prior to treatment to avoid it having an adverse affect on whether we can provide treatment at that time.

Will I have bruising/swelling?

Bruising and swelling vary widely by patient, treatment area, and dose, but you can expect 7-10 days down time after treatment.  When scheduling, please plan around your social schedule.  To help with any bruising and swelling you may experience, we sell SinEcchi, a one-day dosage regimen of Homeopathic Arnica montana indicated for the treatment of bruising and swelling after routine dermal fillers.

Can I exercise after my filler treatment?

We recommend that you abstain from working out for at least 7 days after treatment to limit metabolized absorption.

IPL Photo Facial

Is the IPL Laser treatment painful?

While there is temporary discomfort with treatment, most patients find it very tolerable.  You can expect slight discomfort, similar to a rubber band snapping, with each pulse.  Therefore, discomfort is very brief and mostly resolves upon completion of treatment.  Tylenol is recommended post treatment if continued discomfort occurs.  You may apply ice packs, cool towels or Avène's Cicalfate to alleviate discomfort.

Does the IPL Laser treatment burn/cause scabbing/darkening?

You may experience increased warmth during treatment, and darkened pigmentation and scabbing for a short time period after treatment.  You may notice pigmented areas will darkened during treatment, this is normal.  Over the following 2-3 days, you can expect pigmented areas to darken 2-3 times their original color.  Scabs may begin to form and will begin to flake off in the following 5-7 days after treatment.  *It is extremely important that you do not pick at scabs as this can cause hypo-pigmentation and possible scarring.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients will require 2-4 treatments to achieve desired results, but treatment quantities vary by patient, treatment area, and desired results.  The initial set of treatments are completed ever 3-4 weeks with maintenance treatments once or twice a year.

Can I go out in the sun after IPL Laser treatment?

We recommend that you avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks post laser treatment, and use a broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 sunscreen.  Wearing sunscreen post treatment is crucial as any sun exposure may darken or burn treated areas.

Microneedling

What guidelines do I need to follow prior to receiving Microneedling?

Please refrain from waxing your face or other areas to be treated within 10-15 days prior to treatment.  Avoid excessive sun exposure which could negatively impact your ability to receive treatment.  Also, you must not have medical cosmetic treatments or procedures (e.g. laser therapy, surgical procedures, cosmetic filler, or other exfoliating treatments) within 14 days of treatment.

Does Microneedling hurt?

There may be some degree of discomfort during a micro needling treatment, however it is minimal and subsides after treatment.

Will Microneedling make my acne scarring worse?

Microneedling is a form of collagen induction therapy, which is intended to smooth wrinkles and improve depressed acne scarring.  The epidermis and melanocytes in the basal area are not damaged, so there's no possibility of post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.  In other words, no.

Will Microneedling make my skin red after?

Post-treatment, your skin may be flushed and red and you may experience redness and warmth for a short period after treatment, but this will subside.  You should anticipate a generous estimate of 10 days down time post-procedure.

Dermaplaning

What guidelines do I need to follow prior to receiving Dermaplaning?

Please refrain from waxing your face or other areas to be treated within 10-15 days prior to treatment.  Avoid excessive sun exposure which could negatively impact your ability to receive treatment.  Also, you must not have medical cosmetic treatments or procedures (e.g. laser therapy, surgical procedures, cosmetic filler, microdermabrasion, or other exfoliating treatments) within 14 days of treatment.

If I have acne, am I a candidate for Dermaplaning?

Due to the removal of vellus hair, dermaplaning can potentially cause an increase in acneic breakouts, therefore we do not recommend treatment for such individuals.

Microdermabrasion

What guidelines do I need to follow prior to receiving Microdermabrasion?

Please refrain from waxing your face or other areas to be treated within 10-15 days prior to treatment.  Avoid excessive sun exposure which could negatively impact your ability to receive treatment.  Also, you must not have medical cosmetic treatments or procedures (e.g. laser therapy, surgical procedures, cosmetic filler, or other exfoliating treatments) within 14 days of treatment.

Does a Microdermabrasion treatment include a facial?

Our microdermabrasion treatment does not include a facial, however, we offer masque add-ons to complete your treatment per your desire.
